Every Sat. & Sun. in 2008 - Flea Market at Hocking Hills Market - Saturday & Sunday 9-5 - A large flea market with many outside and inside vendors. Apr 5 - Lake Hope State Park Trail Day & Clean-Up - 10:00am - 12:00pm - Help us fix up our trails and clean up the park. Great for Scout groups, families, clubs and individuals. Cookout lunch afterwards. Bring work gloves. Fun, food and prizes! Meet at Lake Hope Shelterhouse, St. Rt. 278, McArthur, OH 45651. Vinton County.

Apr 5 - Artisan Mall 15th Anniversary Celebration - 10:00am - 6:00pm - Help us celebrate fifteen years in business by enjoying complimentary refreshments, registering for a door prize, and taking advantage of great savings with our in-store coupon sale! Apr 5 - Late Night Logan - 5:00pm - 11:00pm - Downtown merchants, restaurants, art and entertainment venues stay open for the evening on the first Saturday of each month. A great mix of eclectic music performances, art exhibits, adventures in good eating and great shopping specials makes for an enjoyable evening in a friendly, small town. Apr 18 - Shoppe the Hills - From 12:00 p.m. on Friday through 2:00 p.m. Sunday - This juried craft and artisan show is held in conjunction with the Shoot the Hills Photography Weekend and Competition. Vendors will be set up on the lawn in front of the Hocking Hills Dining Lodge as well as inside the building. Shops throughout the area will also be participating. Apr 18 - Shoot the Hills Photography Weekend & Competition - Contest starts Friday at 1 p.m. Special programs run throughout the weekend. $25-$50 registration for contest; other events free. This annual photography contest allows photos shot in Hocking, Athens, Fairfield and Vinton counties, taken in a single 24-hour period. Photo categories are: Landscape, Flora, Wildlife, Abstract, Human Interest and "Photographer's Choice." Visit our website: www.shootthehills.com for registration and more information. A variety of photography programs, special speakers and nature hikes are open and free to the public.

Apr 19 - Annual Wildflower Walk - 10:00am - 12:00pm - 1.5-mile walk along Raccoon Creek to identify wildflowers and discuss folklore. Meet at Hope Furnace with your vehicle. State Route 278, Lake Hope State Park.

Apr 19 - Wildflowers and Waterfalls Hike - 10:00am - Observe nature's carpet of wildflowers and sparkling waterfalls in the beautiful Hocking Hills. Meet at the parking lot at Ash Cave on St. Rt. 56.

Apr 25 - Final Fridays Landscape - 6:00pm - 10:00pm - Enjoy the unique perspective of Nelsonville's Historic Square Arts District's take on Landscape. Some traditional oils, yes, but don't miss the installations, landscapes in glass and ceramic, and special photographic displays. The Historic Square Arts Distict in Nelsonville. May 1-4 - Vinton County Wild Turkey Festival - Enjoy live music, rides and delicious food in a small-town setting. Downtown McArthur, Ohio. Vinton County.

May 2 - Eco-Weekend - 5 p.m. Friday to 2 p.m. Sunday - $100 average for weekend - Eco-Weekend - Nature retreat. Families, singles, age 4 & up. This event is held at Camp Oty'Okwa, located near Conkles Hollow. Learn from experienced leaders -- topics from astronomy, beginning and avid birding, butterflies, bats, crafts, canoeing to reptiles, rocks, moss, singing around campfire, native plants, wildflowers & woods and much more. May 3 - Frontier Trail Hike & Games - 12:00pm - 4:00pm - Explore the history of the Hocking Hills region with a walk back through time dramatized by costumed interpreters along Ash Cave trail. Don't forget to check-in with the historical interpreters at Richard Roe's History Camp to explore and learn more about Ohio's fascinating past May 2-4, 2008.
